Wilton Road reopens as Salisbury Law Court incident is resolved

The incident at Salisbury Law Courts that caused the closure of Wilton Road earlier today (3rd August 2022) has been resolved.

Wiltshire Police say, “The cordon around Wilton Road will reopen shortly.

“Thank you for your patience.”

The road closure came as a result of a suspicious item at Salisbury Law Courts.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson added, “The suspicious item, which was later confirmed not to be a viable device, was made safe using a controlled water detonation. Wilton Road has now re-opened.”

Specially trained personnel were on the scene after sources close to the incident claimed that there was a metal tin device attached to the doors of the Salisbury Law Courts.

Graffiti also appeared on the wall of the court, reading “JUST IS NOT”.
